Orchestra Registration

L.V. Berkner Orchestra Families,

This is your invitation to our required Orchestra Registration event, scheduled for 4:30-8:00 PM (come and go) on Thursday, September 2nd. It will NOT take 3.5 hours! This is a one-stop event that takes care of multiple program needs. Please note that registration is NOT how you sign up for orchestra, but it IS how you get everything necessary done that we don’t have time to do in class otherwise.

To help with the flow of students Upperclassmen try to arrive between 4:30-6pm; Underclassmen try to arrive between 6-8pm; OR please attend whenever your schedule allows. Skim through the checklist to see the agenda for the evening and read through the FAQ if you would like to prepare as much beforehand to be efficient with your time. Some things can be done online!

At-Home Learning Preparations

The Berkner Orchestra room will be open on Monday 3/23 and Tuesday 3/24 from 9am to 11am and 4pm to 6pm for parents or students to come pick up their orchestra binder and/or orchestra instrument if you were unable to take it home before Spring Break.  You will only be permitted to enter through the main green band hall door #37 (at the corner of St. Johns & Concord Dr).  You must enter only through the band hall door.

Corpus Trip

  •       Richardson ISD has cancelled all spring trips for RISD secondary Fine Arts ensembles.  Port Royal Condominiums in Corpus has graciously moved our travel deposit over to 2021 for the Berkner Fine Arts trip already scheduled for April 23 – April 26, 2021. Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors will have $400 of your Corpus payments automatically rolled over to 2021.  Senior families will be mailed a refund of $400. A separate email will be sent out soon to all senior parents with more information on refunds. If you have not made your full payment, you will receive credit for the money in your account minus the $50 deposit for next year’s trip.

  •       Richardson ISD is monitoring containment of the virus moving forward, and will continue communications regarding end of year festivities.  Nothing has been canceled as of this moment for May 2020 activities.

Spin Pizza Night!

We are having an Orchestra fundraiser on Tuesday, April 9 at Spin Pizza in Richardson from 5-9 p.m.  All you have to do is mention you are with the orchestra and come eat some great food!  Make you plans to come out and support the orchestra!
