Berkner Orchestra Update

At-Home Learning Preparations
The Berkner Orchestra room will be open on Monday 3/23 and Tuesday 3/24 from 9am to 11am and 4pm to 6pm for parents or students to come pick up their orchestra binder and/or orchestra instrument if you were unable to take it home before Spring Break. You will only be permitted to enter through the main green band hall door #37 (at the corner of St. Johns & Concord Dr). You must enter only through the band hall door.
- Richardson ISD has cancelled all spring trips for RISD secondary Fine Arts ensembles. Port Royal Condominiums in Corpus has graciously moved our travel deposit over to 2021 for the Berkner Fine Arts trip already scheduled for April 23 – April 26, 2021. Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors will have $400 of your Corpus payments automatically rolled over to 2021. Senior families will be mailed a refund of $400. A separate email will be sent out soon to all senior parents with more information on refunds. If you have not made your full payment, you will receive credit for the money in your account minus the $50 deposit for next year’s trip.
Orchestra Banquet/Spring Concert/BHS Graduation
- Richardson ISD is monitoring containment of the virus moving forward, and will continue communications regarding end of year festivities. Nothing has been canceled as of this moment for May 2020 activities.
Payment schedule and contract
We are thrilled to announce BHS Associate Director, Ms. Kathryn Sabrsula, will be the new head director at Apollo JH! We also want to welcome to our orchestra family two new directors, Ms. Lydia Villarreal, as the new Associate Director at BHS, and Ms. Carina Parker as the new Associate Director at Apollo.
